The agenda and focus of this project is highlighting the difference between crossing the border from the US and MX entry points. How culture dominates one and high surveillance and security dominates another.
I tried to use the same type of documentation techniques for each side of the border. For example, when traveling by motorcycle I used a 360 camera mounted on the front of the bike to document crossing from the US>MX and vice versa.
At Friendship Park I used drone footage and photos to document the site on the MX side. I will be relegated to using photos from before the day Hilary hit San Diego in 2023 to show the US side of Friendship Park because it’s still closed to the public from flooding and the fact that the flooding is also a mixture of water runoff and sewage. I will check and see if things have changed this week and maybe attempt to traverse the area by foot or bike to get to FP.
For the pedestrian crossing, I used my professional camera and iPhone to document with photos and video. I tried to keep the documentation methods consistent throughout the process.
To make my argument I will compare and contrast each site or point of entry along the border. The difference between them are obvious to me and should be obvious to viewer.
